Competing in martial arts for the first time can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. At American Top Team Palm Beach Gardens (ATTPBG), we’ve helped tons of students take that leap—and we’re here to make sure your first experience is empowering, safe, and successful.

Whether it’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, or MMA, here’s what our coaches recommend:

  • Start Early: Don’t wait until the week of the event. Build a game plan with your coach and start drilling weeks in advance.
  • Drill Under Pressure: Simulate tournament rounds with intensity and time limits.
  • Focus on Cardio and Nutrition: Your endurance and weight cut can make or break your performance.
  • Trust the Process: You may win, you may lose—but you will grow. Learning to compete is its own victory.

From in-house tournaments to international events, we support athletes from Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, and Jupiter through every step of the journey.

Confidence doesn’t come from trophies, it comes from effort, progress, and a sense of accomplishment. At American Top Team Palm Beach Gardens, we see this confidence take root in our youngest students and grow stronger with each class.
